I'm going to go back there someday .....

Well after five years I have finished my degree (I am halfway through my industrial training report, but I will pass).

Five years of the roller-coaster of uni. I have met plenty of people in that time though as I did not invest the required effort none of the friendships are what they could have been. I wasted plenty of time sleeping or learning things that had no bearing on my degree (however it paid off in the end).

I enjoyed my time in the 70s plagued building which is a good change from the nightmare of school. I will miss the freedom of being able to do whatever I wanted but not the stresses of taking on too much at a time.

This session I only have 3 courses (21 units, a far cry from the 30 of second year.) and Im pretty damn happy with the results.

Construction Management (55 - Pass) was only taken on to make up units (I needed to be full time) and there were a few skills I wanted to pick up which the course offered. however considering it was an elective for another Faculty I would have assumed that the others would have put in more effort, in the end I was one of three who completed the final assignment while the other 4 in the group prepared to do the subject next year.

I was a bit dissapointed in my Computer Networks (62 - Pass) mark, I put in allot of effort for this class (except for one assignment which was completely out of my league in java).

My Thesis (80 Distinction), well I cant complain. I steadily procrastinated through the year opting to working much more interesting projects at work and as such worked flat out for the last six weeks. Handing it in two days late I was pretty happy with it and vowed never to work on it again.

I guess thats it for me. I plan to work for the next few years, slowly learn more and become one of the best solid modellers in Sydney. Next year I will join the Design Institute of Australia and take advantage of the numerous courses. Then with only four subjects left (one night a week for two years) I may finish my Biomedical Masters which would be kinda handy considering the prestige for designing medical related instruments.

I may soon take on some courses in stuff, considering I have done two community college classes I may take Heathers lead and do some more .... but I really should concerntraite on current learning.

Congratulations

That's a good thesis mark and perfectly respectable other marks (A lot of people seemed to find other marks lower than they expected in final semester - more was draining into thesis than they thought). Well done and since I have now left too I will say hooray for leaving that place behind!
